New Visa on Arrival for more 14 Nations
21 June 2005, 06:59:28 - (2063 hits)The Indonesia Ministry of Culture and Tourism "Jero Wacik" said "Fourteen countries, including China and India, have been agreed for getting visa-on-arrival facility".
"The policy is aimed at attracting foreign tourists to visit Indonesia. We have set a target of bringing in more than six million foreign tourists this year," State Minister of Culture and Tourism Jero Wacik said.
The minister said the countries include China, Saudi Arabia, India, Kuwait, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Egypt, Austria, Ireland, Qatar, Greece, Luxemburg and Germany.
The government is considering to give the facility to Dutch and Sweden, he added.
The length of stay of visa-on-arrival have also been extended from three days to six days, while the uttermost permission of length of 30 days still remained.
The decision brings the number of foreign countries to have been granted the facility to 35 countries. The visa-on-arrival will now be valid for either six (6) or thirty (30) days. A six-day visa will cost US$10 while a 30-day visa will cost $25.
This visa on arrival will only take effect after the Minister’s Decree for Justice and Human Rights has been issued.

Citizens of USA, Canada, Australia,South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Denmark, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Finland, Hungary, England, Italy, Japan, Germany, Korea (Republic), Norway, France, Poland, Switzerland, New Zealand, Taiwan (Rep. of China) are previously 21 countries granted a visit visa on arrival (VOA) in Indonesia through port of entries as follows;

3.Belawan in Medan
4.Sibolga in Sibolga
5.Yos Sudarso in Dumai
6.Teluk Bayur in Padang
7.Tanjung Priok in Jakarta
8.Padang Bai in Bali
9.Jayapura in Jayapura
The Visit Visa on arrival is valid for use within 3 (three) days or 30(thirty) days from the date of issued. The Visa Validity is non-renewable.
A fee of US$ 10.00 is charged for a 3(three)-day stay Visit Visa (single entry) or a fee of US$ 25.00 is charged for a 30(thirty)-day stay Visit Visa (single entry). Visit Visa On Arrival does not entitle its holder to change his/her status to that of residence or employment.
In order to obtain Visit Visa On Arrival, the visitor will require the following:
1.Visitor's Arrival/Departure (A/D) Card
2.Visitor's Passport with validity of at least (6) six months
3.Visa Charge Payment Receipt
